A Brief Introduction to Our Product
A study indicates that guava leaf extract can inhibit the activity of the reverse transcriptase enzyme from the Dengue virus.
In a preclinical study conducted on mice, it was observed that guava leaf extract increases the number of megakaryocytes in the bone marrow, thereby raising the platelet count in the blood.
Additionally, a study suggests that guava leaf extract may reduce vascular permeability, indicating its potential to prevent plasma leakage and shock, conditions that can lead to death.
Product Functions
Clinical trials were conducted on pediatric and adult patients who experienced grade I and II dengue hemorrhagic fever. The selected criteria for these patients included a sudden high fever of unknown origin lasting continuously for 2 to 7 days, along with bleeding manifestations, liver enlargement, plasma leakage, thrombocytopenia (platelet count below 100,000/μL), and hemoconcentration. The results indicated that guava leaf extract could increase platelet counts from below 100,000/μL to 300,000/μL by the third day of treatment.
In another clinical study, pediatric patients who consumed guava leaf extract syrup showed an increase in platelet count from 39,750/μL on the third day of fever to 136,000/μL by the fifth day.
Furthermore, other clinical studies indicated that patients who received Psidii capsules showed an increase in platelet count to ≥ 100,000/μL by the fifth day of treatment. The administration of Psidium guajava extract can serve as an alternative therapy to help accelerate the increase in platelet count, potentially reducing the overall duration of treatment.
