HerbaWELL Kolesdex

Curcuma domestica

HerbaWELL Kolesdex

HerbaWELL Kolesdex contains Curmerol, a standardized extract derived from the rhizome of Curcuma domestica, commonly known as Curcuma longa or kunyit in Indonesia. This product supports cholesterol management and has been preclinically proven to lower total cholesterol, LDL, and triglyceride levels.

HerbaWELL Kolesdex contains a precisely formulated dose of 500 mg of Curmerol in capsule forms.

A Brief Introduction to Our Product

The potential mechanism of action of C. domestica involves the suppression of key proteins related to cholesterol metabolism, including cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) and HMG-CoA reductase, leading to reduced blood cholesterol levels. The treatment also upregulates LDL-receptor activity, enhancing the removal of LDL from plasma and increasing CYP7A1 activity, which converts cholesterol into bile acids and promotes cholesterol utilization. Additionally, the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of C. domestica by inhibiting enzymes like cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), lipoxygenase (LOX), and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), which mediate inflammatory processes, may also play a crucial role. C. domestica also reduces oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation, which may help diminish the formation of atherogenic particles, thereby supporting cardiovascular health.

Product Functions

Our in vitro studies of Curmerol using 3T3-L1 cells have demonstrated its effectiveness in managing cholesterol levels. Curmerol has shown the ability to inhibit lipid accumulation and lower total cholesterol levels. In our in vivo study using hypercholesterolemia-induced rats, we observed significant reductions in blood lipid parameters, including total cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL levels. After six weeks of Curmerol treatment, total cholesterol levels returned to baseline, confirming its potential as an effective treatment for managing cholesterol.

The safety of Curmerol is a key aspect of our research. The acute toxicity study of Curmerol in mice demonstrated that a single oral dose of up to 5 g/kg did not result in lethality or toxic behavioral signs, with all observed parameters comparable to the control group. These findings support the conclusion that Curmerol is practically non-toxic.

The subchronic toxicity study in rats, conducted over 90 days at doses up to 1000 mg/kg BW (equivalent to human doses up to 11,200 mg), further confirmed its safety. No changes in behavior or motor activity were observed, and histopathological examinations revealed no clinically significant abnormalities in body organs.
