HerbaKOF
HerbaKOF is an herbal product containing Reconyl, a bioactive fraction derived from a combination of Indonesian indigenous herbs, namely Vitex trifolia leaves, Abrus precatorius leaves, Zingiber officinale rhizome, and Phaleria macrocarpa pericarp. HerbaKOF is intended to treat coughs accompanied by a sore throat. The herbal combination in Reconyl has been empirically proven to be an effective remedy for cough. Moreover, preclinical studies of Reconyl have confirmed the efficacy and safety of HerbaKOF products.
HerbaKOF contains a precisely formulated dose of 225 mg of Reconyl and is available in various forms, including film-coated tablets, syrup, and powder. Furthermore, HerbaKOF syrup is offered in a range of flavors, including original, strong mint, and lime. The powder form of HerbaKOF comes in two flavors: honey mint and mint tea.
A Brief Introduction to Our Product
HerbaKOF is promising for the treatment of cough and sore throat, supported by a long history of empirical use of its composition. Vitex trifolia has been widely known for its beneficial effects on the respiratory tract, particularly in treating cough and asthma. The flavonoids and tannins in Vitex trifolia have been studied for their anti-inflammatory properties. Additionally, Abrus precatorius has been reported to have antitussive and bronchodilator activities, which help improve airflow to the lungs. Another composition, Zingiber officinale, is known for its antitussive activity, attributed to its polysaccharide components, supporting its popular empirical use for treating dry cough. Lastly, Phaleria macrocarpa has been extensively studied for its antiinflammation activity, which is crucial for effectively managing cough and sore throat. An in vivo study revealed that Reconyl is effective in relieving cough by directly suppressing the cough reflex at the cough center in the brain.
Product Functions
HerbaKOF contains Reconyl that is derived from four plants: Vitex trifolia leaves, Abrus precatorius leaves, Zingiber officinale rhizome, and Phaleria macrocarpa pericarp, in the ratio of 1 : 0.25 : 0.25 : 0.2. These four indigenous plants have been well-documented for their traditional use in treating cough and sore throat.
The efficacy of HerbaKOF in treating cough has been proven in the pharmacodynamic study of Reconyl in rats. Reconyl demonstrated its ability to significantly reduce the frequency and intensity of cough in the animal models compared to the negative control group. These results suggest the activity of Reconyl in relieving cough by directly suppressing the cough reflex at the cough center in the brain.
Additionally, the safety properties of HerbaKOF have been extensively studied. Acute and subchronic toxicity studies exhibited Reconyl as a non-toxic substance, indicated by the LD50 value greater than 15 g/kg body weight. Furthermore, repeated doses of Reconyl for 90 days did not cause any changes in the hematology profile or abnormalities in the animal organs. The results of teratogenicity studies, which assess safety during pregnancy, indicate Reconyl as a non-teratogenic substance.
