The safety of Psidium guajava leaf aqueous extract has been studied in rats. The study found no mortality or clinical toxicity signs in the rats at all administered doses (50, 500, and 5000 mg/kg body weight). Additionally, the liver enzymes (AST, ALT, ALP) and renal markers (creatinine, urea, uric acid, and blood urea nitrogen) remained within normal ranges, suggesting no liver or kidney damage. These findings support the safety of guajava leaf extract, even at high doses, and suggest that the extract is non-toxic.
