According to the literature, acute toxicity studies involving orally administered ethanol extracts of M. oleifera leaves in mice showed a toxicity level greater than 6.4 g/kg. Furthermore, no adverse effects were reported in a human study that administered whole leaf powder at a single dose of up to 50 g, nor in a study that utilized an 8 g daily dose over a period of 40 days
